How to Prevent MRSA
Hygiene is a very important factor in preventing MRSA.
It is important to wash your hands frequently for at least thirty seconds or after using the restroom. Hand washing is especially important after visiting someone in a hospital or long-term care facility like a nursing home. It is important that doctors and nurses wash their hands as well, especially before examining you. Also, because MRSA can be transmitted through contaminated items, it is important not to handle used bandages, or share things like towels, sporting equipment, razors, or other personal care items.
